The George P. Hanley Democracy Center cultivates an understanding of democratic governance within the United States and around the globe. It promotes research on the rules, history, and practice of democracy by distributing grants and hosting conferences. It provides public events to expand public understanding of democracy. The Center collaborates with the department of Political Science, the College of Arts and Sciences, and other university organizations to provide educational opportunities for students in the study and practice of democracy.
